GCA felicitates Ranji Trophy 2016-17 Champion Team of Gujarat with Rs 3 crore cheque

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Cricket Association(GCA)’s Ranji team led by Parthiv Patel successfully had reached final after 82 years by defeating 41-time champion Mumbai team recently.
To felicitate the victorious team, a function under the guidance of GCA President Amit Shah was held today, in which Vice President Parimal Nathwani and other GCA office bearers and Executive Committee members honored the victorious team.
Gujarat Ranji team had reached final match of Ranji Trauphy Tournament for the first time in year 1950-51 but the team couldn’t win the final. However, in year 2016-17 Ranji trophy tournament, Gujarat team not only reachd final but also won the cup.
Victorious team was given BCCI prize of Rs 2 crore and GCCI prize of Rs 3 crore amount. Star players Parthiv Patel, RP Singh among others were present in this function while Jasprit Bumrah, Akshar Patel, Priyank Panchal, Samit Gohil couldn’t attend the ceremony.
GCA office bearer Jay Shah couldn’t attend the function while other office bearers such as Treasurer Bharat Zaveri, Joint Secretary Bharat Dudhiya and Mehul Patel, GCA former President and Gujarat State Planning Commission’s Vice Chairman Narhari Amin were present in this function.
Ahead of the function, GCA Executive Committee meeting was chaired by Parimal Nathwani in which progress of ongoing Motera stadium reconstruction and development project was reviewed and discussed.
