Rousing Reception for PM Modi upon his arrival in Vadnagar, Gujarat

Vadnagar (Gujarat):

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first visit to his hometown Vadnagar in Gujarat today after assuming PM office hold an unscheduled 6 km long grand amd emotional road show during which thousands of men-women and children in his native land thronged the route raining flower petals on him all the way.

During the emotional trip that started from Gunja helipad near here at around 0930 this morning and took over an hour to cover just 6 km, PM Modi stopped at his former alma mater, B N School and touched the soil there as a mark of respect and also put it on his forehead as tilak.

He then resumed the road-show till nearby Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple close to his ancestral home. He went to the temple and offered puja and did aarti in the sanctum sanctorum there. CM Vijay Rupani and former CM Anandiben Patel were also present on the occasion. Modi spent around 6 minutes in the temple and also met some of the senior citizens of the village there briefly.

He then reached GMERS medical college and hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 600 crore and inaugurated it. He also interacted with some of the students in the auditorium and wished them ‘all the best’. He would address a meeting at the nearby Tulsi park where he would also launch the intensified Mission Indradhanush that will work towards full immunization. The Prime Minister will distribute e-tablets to health workers to mark the launch of ImTeCHO, a mobile app to improve performance of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers.

Later in the day he would go to Bharuch to inaugurate a barrage over river Narmada and laying foundation and dedication of various other developmental works.

He would leave for New Delhi from Vadodara after that.

The over one hour long road show PM Modi also crossed from near the railway station where he used to sell tea during his childhood.

PM Modi during the road show continuously kept waving at the crowd and at some place even made brief halt to greet them.

Modi was born as the third of total six children of Damodardas Modi and Hiraba on September 17, 1950 in Vadnagar which is situated at a distance of around 100 km from Ahemdabad.

Modi had arrived on his third visit to poll bound Gujarat within a month yesterday and started his trip from Dwarka.
