Beating the Retreat and Sunset Ceremony of Indian Navy at INS Valsura

As part of the Navy week, Beating the Retreat and Sunset Ceremony was organised at INS Valsura last evening.
The highlights of the Beating the Retreat function included performance by Navy Band, Continuity Drill (Parade), PT Display and Mashaal Display. The event concluded with Beating the Retreat, which is a ceremony to order the troops to retreat, marking the end of the day’s fighting. More than 70 dignitaries from Jamnagar and 700 personnel including service and defence civilian personnel witnessed the event.
The event was reviewed by Commodore Indrajit Dasgupta, Commanding Officer, INS Valsura and attended by eminent citizens and civil dignitaries including the Municipal Commissioner, the District Collector and Senior Officers of sister services. Beating the Retreat was followed by ‘At Home’ function at Valsura house.
