Person sitting on fast against encroachment of Gochar land in Gujarat dies

Bhavnagar:
A 53 year old man who was among those sitting on indefinite fast in Vallabhipur Taluka panchayat of Bhavnagar district in Gujarat to protest against alleged large-scale encroachment on the Gochar land in and around Chamardi village, today died.
Revabhai Godadbhai Sasla was taken to Sir T Hospital after deterioration in his condition where the doctors declared him brought dead.
The agitation against encroachment on Gochar land was on for past around 2 years and the fast was going on for around 10 days.
Meanwhile the community and family members have refused to accept the dead-body demanding that the collector must resolve the issue first.
Expressing grief over the death, Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani said that the state government should immediately take steps to free the Gochar lands across the state from the encroachment of Land-Mafias.
