Two Sadhus of Gadhada old Swaminarayan temple booked for attempt to murder

Bhavnagar: Complaint has been filed against two Sadhus of old Ghadhda Swaminarayan temple famous for its politically active controversial saint SP Swami. Both sadhus are booked under
IPC sections 307, 323, 504, 114 and GP act 135.

27-year old Vishnubhai Humbal has in his complaint said, he owns a mobile phone shop located opposite the old Swaminarayan temple of Gadhda in main bazar area.

On 20th October when he was standing close to his shop at around 9 pm, old temple’s Maulik Bhagat came in temple’s car and started speaking abusive words. When asked to stop speaking abusive words, Maulik Bhagat was further agitated. Bhagat rushed to temple gate and returned with stick in his hand. At the same time Kothari Swami Ghanshyam Shastri also came from inside the temple with steel pipe in his hand. As he was attacked with steel pipe, Humbal’s head started bleeding due to injury.

Humbal in his complaint further said, he collapsed due to injury after which Maulik Bhagat started hitting him on back with stick and punches. After lot of people gathered there, Bhagat and Swami left the place. As some one had called 108 emergency ambulance service, Humbal was taken to local government hospital in ambulance where his brother Sanjay arrived and took him to Sir T hospital in Bhavnagar for further treatment.

Humbal said he was earlier operating paan-maavaa-cold drink shop which was unacceptable to Maulik Bhagat and Kothari Swami. Later he converted his outlet to mobile shop. But two-month old dispute resulted into the incident of 20th October.
