President Kovind visits Gir forest, will go to Somnath on Monday

Junagadh: President Ram Nath Kovind was on visit to Sasan Gir forest near Junagadh in Gujarat with is wife and daughter to have Lion Safari earlier today. He could spot number of Gir lions in this last abode of Asiatic Lions in the world. He also spotted deer and other wild animals. In his series of tweets, Kovind later said: Delighted to visit Gir Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat today. Was happy to learn about the conservation efforts that have led to rising population of Asiatic Lions – the pride of India. Come and visit Gir to experience nature at its best. Appreciate the Government of Gujarat, the Forest officials and staff and the people of Saurashtra for their sincere efforts to protect wildlife, making Gir an example of succesful conservation. Let us all do our bit to protect our flora and fauna. Do visit Gir forest with the President in this video and have a feast of watching wild life at Gir. Kovind is staying at Simh Sadan here tonight and would go to Somnath temple tomorrow.
