Alpesh Thakor spends 40 minutes with Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

New Delhi: Congress MLA and Thakor Sena leader Alpesh Thakor today called on Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. This was Alpesh’s second visit to Delhi in a week to meet Rahul Gandhi. He could not meet Rahul Gandhi during his earlier visit. However today, according to Alpesh, Rahul Gandhi spent 45 minutes with him.

‘Strong leaders, workers must not be harassed. We generally don’t discuss politics much when we meet, but today the discussion was purely political. He was going to Dubai but spent time with me and also said that he would meet me again after he return from Dubai,’ Alpesh said.

‘My concern was not about myself but about my people. Lakhs of workers selflessly supported Congress party, but at gram, taluka and district level they face injustice. Weaker party leaders harass them, which can not be tolerated. If my people don’t get respected position, I need to speak. I am assured that the issue will be resolved soon,’ he further said.

‘It’s not about position or seat, we are able to get that anyhow, but if we are not treated like family member, if something goes wrong and only we are blamed, if our workers are not given that touching approach and respect, that’s not fair. Strong workers can’t remain silent. I am fighting for my people,’ Alpesh said.
