Deputy Sarpanch murder case: 8 accused nabbed

Gandhinagar/Botad: Police has nabbed Eight of the total nine accused of the sensational murder of a deputy sarpanch in Jalila village of Botad district in Gujarat.
Police said that after the murder of yesterday , initially 3 accused were nabbed today and later five more have been nabbed.

Deputy Sarpanch Manji Solanki was allegedly killed by rivals. He was earlier given security cover due to threat on life but it was later withdrawn. His murder has also taken a political colour.

Gandhinagar: Senior leader of ruling BJP and former speaker of Gujarat assembly Ramanlal Vora today said that there should not be any party politics over the death of a Deputy Sarpanch in Janila village in Botad district.
Addressing a press conference here he said that Deputy SarpancManji Solanki’s murder was condemnable and the BJP condemned it. He had succumbed in Ahmedabad civil hospital last evening.
He said that he was earlier given security through SRP but when the company was removed the security was withdrawn along with that of other people also.
He said that the incident has nothing to do with party politics and it was result of animosity between two factions. Police has nabbed three of the accused.
Notably, Solanki who was associated with Congress was allegedly killed by a group due to old rivalry.
Meanwhile, police has nabbed another four accused in the case taking the total number of arrests to seven.
