Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s visit to Kutch based Mundra port and Shiracha power plant has put Gujarat Congress in a fix.

Both Mundra port and Shiracha power plant are owned by Adani group, whose Chairman Gautam Adani is believed to be close to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Gujarat Congress leaders have time and again raised issue of close relations between Modi and Adani, allegedly misused, number of times, against Gujarat’s good.

Gujarat Congress vs Adani-Modi is open and very well known phenomena. Congress leaders in Gujarat have coined various slogans against Modi-Adani relations. Gujarat Congress spokesperson Arjun Modhwadia had created a slogan during 2007 assembly election campaign, that Modi’s government worked for only five crorepatis, Adani, one of them. Gujarat’s opposition leader Shaktisinh Gohil has given a slogan that, Gujarat government is for Dani, Adani and Nathwani. Another Gujarat Congress leader Shankarsinh Vaghela had in past opposed land allocation to Adani saying that Modi, by allotting land for Adani SEZ at a rate of Rs 11 per square metre, caused a loss of Rs 3,000 crore to the state exchequer. Ironically, the same SEZ was visited by Robert Vadra yesterday. Gujarat Congress has always raised voice against Modi using Adani’s private aircraft, but irony is that, Sonia Gandhi’s son in law Mr. Robert Vadra himself used Gautam Adani’s private aircraft to reach Mundra port airstrip yesterday. Gautam Adani was also with Mr. Vadra in same aircraft.

Robert Vadra, husband of India’s ruling Congress party President Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi, flew back to Delhi on Monday itself after completing his brief visit.
