A pair of tigers – 14-year-old Gaurav and 10-year-old Nidhi has been brought to Gandhinagar’s Indroda park from Junagadh’s Sakkarbag Zoo. Gujarat Forest Minister Mangubhai Patel on Tuesday dedicated this pair to public. This apart, two pairs of white peafowl (peacock) and two pairs of white blackbucks were also opened for public viewing. The minister also opened a botanical garden that contains more than 1,500 different variety of plants.
Indroda Park is perhaps the only nature park in the country where a zoo, Dinosaur & Fossil Park, and a botanical garden with 1,506 species (203 trees, 150 shrubs, 1,093 herbs and 60 climbers) of plants can be seen at one place.
While 17-year-old Gaurav is a father of 6 cubs in Sakkarbaug Zoo, Needhi is 10 years old and has given birth to 4 cubs in the past.
