Three main events to mark Swarnim Jayanti celebrations

As the state of Gujarat is completing 50 years of its formation on 1st May 2010, the government of Gujarat is organizing number of events. The main three events are following.
Swarnim Gujarat, Vaishwik Gujarat(NRG meet & Cultiral event)
30th April 2010, 5:30 pm, convention centre, University ground Ahmedabad
Mahatma Mandir(convention centre) Foundation ceremony
1st May 2010, 10:30am Gandhinagar
Vande Gujarat(a Gala cultural event)
1st May 2010 6:00 pm, Sardar Patel stadium, Ahmedabad
A historic convention centre, Mahatma Mandir is being built at Gandhinagar to commemorate the Swarnim Jayanti celebrations. Soil, water and a flag from every country in which Gujarat brothers and sisters reside will be placed in Mahatma Mandir on 1st May 2010, to symbolize the global relevance of Gandhiji, the wide spread Gujarati diaspora and vibrant ties with the motherland. Similarity, soil and water from all Indian states and Gujarat’s villages are being brought.
A Swarnim Kalash symbolising the Golden Jubilee of Gujarat will be handed over to the representatives of various countries/states during the NRG meet on 30th April 2010 at Ahmedabad. The Swarnim Kalash of Gujarat would move around various places within the respective regions during the next one year of celebrations. At the end of the year at the time of 1st of May 2011 retreat ceremony, the Kalash would reach back to Gujarat with rich memories of the year-long celebrations.
Major government buildings in cities across Gujarat will dress decorative lighting from 28th of April to first week of May as part of the celebration.
