Betting king Dinesh Kalgi sent to Jamnagar jail under PASA

Gujarat’s Satta betting king Dinesh Kalgi was arrested finally on Friday morning. However he was awarded bail by the court in the evening. But in dramatic development, the Ahemdabad Police Commissioner ordered his arrest again under PASA and sent him to Jamnagar jail.
Kalgi was arrested early in the morning on Friday from Ahmedabad’s Paldi area by city police’s Crime Branch.
Kalgi’s arrest was certain as he was denied anticipatory bail by the court. However he was untraceable for last some days.
As Police received information about Kalgi’s possible visit to his resident in Ahmedabad’s Paldi area, the Crime Branch deployed its selected cops around Kalgi’s resident. When Kalgi returned from Rajasthan’s Shrinathaji at around 1.30 am, he was nabbed by Inspector Chaudhary.
In October a case was registered against one betting den operator Murli in connection with cricket satta network in Naranpura area. As many as 29 mobile phones were found in this case. Primary investigation suggested that Dinesh Kalgi was partner in this batting den. In this case seven persons were arrested and five including Dinesh Thakkar(Dinesh Kalgi) were wanted. CRPC warrant was issued in this regard. Kalgi stayed at large for 33 days.
Kalgi was produced in the court and was freed on bail. However as per the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner order, Kalgi was arrested again under PASA and was sent to Jamnagar jail.
