Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited Kensville Golf club near Ahmedabad to give away prizes to the winners of European tour. Modi played Golf with winner of the tournament Gagandeep Bhullar. Modi could send a ball to its destination on just second shot.

With Gujarat becoming a global business hub, golf was fast emerging as a tourism destination in the state, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi said here today on sidelines of Gujarat Kensville Golf Challenge- 2011 . which is part of the European Challenge Tour .
“The Gujarat Kensville Golf Challenge-2011, has put the state on the international Golf circuit which is a matter of great pride as Ahmedabad would the third city after Delhi and Kolkata to host an international golf tournament,” Modi said during the closing ceremony of the tournament here.
He said that to promote golf-based tourism in the state, government has signed five memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with as many private players during the recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Summit , 2011.
“Though golf is a new game for Gujarat, but is gaining popularity among the youth of the state and could be developed for tourism purpose. I believe that soon there would be over 1,000 golf players from Gujarat,” Modi said.
He said that sports may not be in DNA of Gujaratis, but to create an holistic atmosphere of sports, the government has decided to set up a sports university in the state.
Modi also gave away prizes to the participants of the tournament where 144 players from 68 different countries including India had participated.
India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar won the Gujarat Kensville Golf tournament, 2011.
