GWSSB begins process to induct 259 engineers

In a major induction drive, Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) has started the process of filling vacant posts of Engineers for senior and middle level technical positions. The GWSSB is a Government of Gujarat owned Statutory Board engaged in providing Water supply and Sewerage facilities in the state of Gujarat.
According to details available from GWSSB, the process has been initiated to induct 9 Executive Engineer(Civil for class-1 job – three years of experience in Civil Engineering construction works), 1 Executive Engineer(Mechanical – class-1 -about 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering works), 12 Deputy Executive Engineer(Civil class-2 – candidates having relevant experience), 2 Deputy Executive Engineer(Mechanical class-2 – candidates having relevant experience), 213 Assistance Engineer(Civil) and 25 Assistant Engineer(Mechanical).
A degree in relevant Engineering from recognized university or its equivalent qualifications. Operating skills in MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD has been made compulsory for all posts.
While 40 vacancy are reserved for female in general category, 4 seats are reserved for female in schedule caste category, 12 in schedule Tribe and 15 in socially and economically backward class. 9 seats are reserved for schedule caste male, 30 for schedule tribe male, and 35 for socially and economically backward class. 3% posts are to be reserved for the physically disabled candidates in the cadre of Assistant Engineer(Civil) as per government rules. Age limit in case of S.C./S.T/S.E.B.C/ Physically disabled and female candidates will be relaxed as per rules. If suitable female candidates are not available, the posts reserved for them will be filled in by male candidates.
