Former Gujarat minister Jaspal singh Rana today rejoined the BJP. Rana was senior MLA in Gujarat assembly and had became minister in Keshubhai Patel’s regime.
Also joined the party today was Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)’s city unit President Shri Sunilbhai Sing(Pappusingh)with his supporters.
However the most important induction was three Janata Dal(United) Councillors of Vadodara Municipal Corporation including former Deputy Mayor Shailesh Sotta and sitting BJP MLA Madhu Srivastava’s son. In the presence of Gujarat state BJP President Shri R.C.Faldu, the entire unit of Janata dal(United) with them merged into BJP. About 500 supporters of Srivastav and Sotta were present on this occasion.
Shailesh Sotta is considered locally powerful Brahmin leader who won Vadodara Municipal Corporation election even amid strong BJP wave. He is the most important catch so far as today’s inductions are concerned.
According to press statement of BJP’s media in-charge Dr. Jagdish Bhavsar, Vadodara district panchayat’s independent member elected from Savli Shri Ketan Inamdar, Savli’s leading personality Shri Bhagvanbhai Sukhabhai Parmar, Savli’s Varachhada taluka panchayat’s Congress member Shri Rajubhai Patel and many other local workers have joined the BJP on Friday.
