Slaughter houses to be closed during Janmashtami, Paryushan in Gujarat

The Government of Gujarat has urged the Local Self-Government Institutions and Panchayats to keep slaughter houses closed across the State on the occasion of Janmashtami on August 22, 2011 and Paryushan from August 25 to September 1, 2011 in deference to festivals of the Jain and other communities.
The State Government has urged all the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Panchayats also to keep slaughter houses closed during these days.
