Ahmedabad’s 8 road stretches to be developed as ‘model road’

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation today announced its plan to develop eight selected roads in the city as model roads.

The roads selected to be developed as model road are:

-West Zonal office Usmanpura cross road to Vijay Char rasta to Gujarat University to Jahnavi restaurant

-BRTS Pallav cross road to Prabhat chowk to Gnatlodia sub-zonal office to Sarthak cross road to Sal hospital to Judges bungalow cross road to Karnavati motors

-Indira bridge circle to a road connecting airport

-Airport circle to Dafnala to Shahibag under pass to Police Commissioner office to Delhi darwaja to Gandhi bridge

-S.G.Highway Pakwan restaurant to Judges bungalow cross road to Mansi circle cross road to Keshavbag party plot BRTS

-Meghani nagar last bus stand to Omkar bridge to Memko cross road to Bapunagar cross road to Swastik cross road to Hatkeshwar circle to Guruji bridge to Avkar hall to Jaymala cross road to Govind vadi to Isanpur bridge BRTS

-BRTS CTM bridge to Hatkeshwar circle to Khokhra bridge to Dindayal park to New cloth market to Kagdapith police station BRTS

-Shahibag under pass to Girdharnagar bridge to Idgah circle to Prem darwaja to Kalupur railway station to New cloth market

According to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s announcement all these roads will be made dust-free.

Existing central verge and footpaths on both sides will be either repaired or will be made again.

With wall-to-wall roads all hawkers will be removed on these roads.

Retro reflective material will be used for better traffic guidance. Also various signage like mandatory, informative, cautionary and direction signage and keep-left board will be put on these roads.

Commuters will get information about lane through hot applied thermoplastic paint. Also shoulder line paint will be used for retro reflective cat-eye fixture.

Benches and dustbins will be put at proper distances on model roads.

On-road parking place will be created after permitted by the city traffic police.
