Former BJP MLA Sunil Oza today rejoined the BJP at Ahmedabad based BJP headquarter in presence of BJP leader and MP Vijaybhai Rupani. Oza will remain present during Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Sadbhavana fast in Bhavngar.
Sunil Oza had left the party before 2007 Gujarat assembly election after he was denied ticket to contest the election on his seat in Bhavnagar. He contested the poll under the banner of BJP rebel Uma Bharti’s Lok Jan Shakti Party but secured only 2,000 votes. At the time of the 2007 election, Oza used to boast that Uma Bharati’s party will win 50% of Gujarat assembly seats, however not a single seat could be secured and could not save deposit on a single seat. Oza later became one of the founder members of Gordhan Jhadafia led MahaGujarat Janata Party.
Early this year, Oza suddenly resigned from MahaGujarat Janata Party. He had not made any announcement about his future course of action.
Now is he joining back the BJP. It is obvious that he would aim for contesting his traditional seat Bhavnagar(south) on BJP ticket in 2012 Gujarat assembly election. However party has not promised that.
