Selling lethal kite flying string will invite 5-year prison, warns AMC

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) today morning announced that it will start a movement against selling of illegal lethal kite flying string in the markets ahead of Uttarayan.
The AMC today issued a statement and warned that those selling string made from plastic or similar synthetic materials will invite prison term of upto five years or fine of upto Rs 1 lakh or both as per section five of environment act.
The AMC in its statement further stated that the officials of health and estate departments will start a drive against lethal string as selling of such string is illegal and it causes danger to life and property.
