On the occasion of Maha Shivratri today, a helicopter will shower petals over Shri Somnath mandir in Gujarat.

Shri Somnath’s Mahashivaratri aarti, darshan, shringar will be available live on TV channels like Doordarshan, Sahara Samay and E TV among others.

Two LED screens are placed inside the mandir campus to telecast the darshan and aarti live before thousands of visitors.

Bank of Baroda has sponsored a touch screen kiosk in mandir campus through which the visitors will be able to read the details such as the history of this mandir, details of Somnath, information about guest houses, nearby tourist attractions etc.

Chairman of Shri Somnath Trust Shri Keshubhai Patel will dedicate a newly built Sagar darshan atithi gruh.

TV9 has donated wheel chairs for old-age and weak pilgrims. This facility will be dedicated today.

The government of Gujarat has organized an exhibition on agriculture for farmers visiting Shri Somnath mandir on the occassion of Shivaratri.

Excel Industries, Bhavnagar has cleaned the entire campus of Shri Somnath mandir using eco friendly cleaning process.

Due to heavy rush of pilgrims on Shivratri, a special arrangement of ‘ren basera’ shelter has been set up.

At 8.00 pm on Mahashivratri day, Shri Rajni Art – Rajkot will present Usha Parinay musical drama based on Okha Haran story. At 10.00 pm Shri Mayabhai Ahir and Shri Arjanbhai Vaghela will present Dayro.
