Emirates carries 170 tonne cargo a week in Ahmedabad

Emirates SkyCargo organised the annual awards dinner in honour of its top Cargo Agents on Thursday, 22nd March 2012, at the ST Laurn Hotel – Ahmedabad.

Recognising cargo agents substantial contribution to Emirates’ SkyCargo business, the top performers M/s. Chinubhai Kalidas & Bros., DHL Lemuir Logistics India Pvt Ltd., East West Freight Carriers Pvt Ltd., Hellmann India Pvt Ltd., and Penta Freight Pvt Ltd were presented individual certificates and trophies in the midst of an august gathering.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Senior Vice President, Cargo, Emirates Airline, “The annual Top Agents’ award underscores our appreciation to our valued agent partners. Ahmedabad and our agents in the city have always made a significant contribution to our success and growth. The Ahmedabad market is extremely important for us and I congratulate all the winners who have helped our business over the years, with 2011 being no exception.”

The airline carries 170 tonnes of cargo a week from its base in Ahmedabad mainly to the Middle East, United States of America and Europe. Overall, the airline carries around 3,000 tonnes of cargo from the country to various points across the world every week. Emirates SkyCargo has seen a strong 2010-11 performance across the network, posting an increase in revenue up 27.6 percent to a record AED 8.8 billion, with cargo tonnage up by 11.8 percent over the previous year to 1.8 million tonnes. However, West Asia & Indian Ocean contributed 20.4 percent to the Emirates Airline global revenue in 2010-11

Emirates operates 10 weekly flights from Ahmedabad to Dubai offering 170 tonnes of cargo capacity in the belly of these aircrafts.
