Last December, the Guiness book of records team declared Nagpur’s Jyoti Amge the tiniest woman on the earth. Jyoti 18-year-old girl is 62.8 cm-tall. Jyoti measured 7 centimeters (2.76 inches) shorter than the 22-year-old American Bridgette Jordan, who had held the title since September 2011. This was not Amge’s first Guinness record. Before last year’s record she was considered the world’s shortest teenager, but in turning 18 last year she qualified for the new title.
Jyoti was in Ahmedabad today to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. She is follower of Digambar Jain monk Shri Tarun Sagar Maharaj. she tied Rakhi to Shri Tarun Sagar Maharaj’s Rajoharan(a peacock feather tool).
Jyoti in her short speech today at Tarun Sagar Maharaj’s Chaturmas function appealed the audience to save girl child. Her voice too was like a small child.
Jyoti weighs just 12lbs (5.5kg) – only 9lbs more than she did at birth – and has a form of dwarfism call achondroplasia, which stopped her growing after her first birthday. She has brittle bones and is likely to need care for the rest of her life, but that has not stopped her tall ambitions of cracking the movie industry. She has grown less than 1cm (0.4in) in the last two years, Guinness said in a statement, and will grow no more due to a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.Jyoti, centre, is the world’s smallest girl – but still attends school with her classmates, who she says don’t treat her any differently
