Gujarat’s Dahej among world’s top 50 SEZs

Gujarat’s Dahej SEZ has again secured its place in the list of top-50 global free zones, minister of state for Industry Shri Saurabh Patel said today in a statement.
“The world famous FDI magazine surveyed more than 600 free zones of 120 countries and selected Gujarat’s Dahej in top-50 list after studying all parameters,” the minister said.
“The top 50 free zones are located in 24 different countries. Of them India’s only such zone is Gujarat’s Dahej,” he added.
While earlier Dahej had secured its place in the list of top 25 SEZ, this time it is placed on 26th position.
1732 ha multi product SEZ at Dahej has been jointly developed by Gujarat government arm GIDC and Government of India unit ONGC. As many as 68 units are allotted plots in this SEZ. The companies have invested Rs 35,000 crore here. Total 26,500 people are employed here. Dahej contributes Rs 865 crore export.
