Narendra Modi to inaugurate India’s biggest cattle feed plant at Jagudan today

Mehsana, 9 September 2012

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new fully automated Sagar dan factory of Dudhsagar dairy at Jagudan in Mehsana district today. This will be the largest such plant in the country with a capacity of 10 lakh kilogram per day. Dudhsagar Dairy has already two existing plants at Boriyavi and Ukkal with 900 metric tonne per day capacity. Foundation stone for this cattle feed plant was laid in 2009 by Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (MDCMPUL) popularly known as Dudhsagar Dairy.

According to Dudhsagar dairy’s chairman Vipula Chaudhary, a new cattle feed plant will supply cattle feed to milk societies in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana where farmers are exploited as they presently do not have access to the organized sector. Around 2,500 groups in Rajasthan, UP and Haryana contribute about 6 lakh liter per day milk which is processed at Manesar plant from where it reaches to Delhi market under the brand name of Amul.
