CM lays foundation stone for Rs.151-cr high-rise housing scheme

Vadodara, 25 September 2012

At Vivekananda Yuva Parishad held at Vadodara today the chief minister Narendra Modi called upon youths to evoke their strength for the creation of divine and glorious Gujarat.

State’s Youth Services and Cultural Activities department has organized a series of seven Vivekananda Yuva Parishad to mark the 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda. Today’s yuva parishad at Vadodra was the seventh one in the row which saw a participation of a sea of youths. On the occasion, the chief minister distributed sports kits to Vivekananda Yuva Kendras and dedicated to people the smart RC book of RTO.

Today, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay the chief minister laid foundation stone for a high-rise housing complex, comprising 1092 houses, for the people of low-income group and middle-income group at the cost of Rs.151 crore.

Speaking about the significance of Swami Vivekananda’s message the chief minister said, “swamiji predicted that he would leave his mortal body at the age of 40. His prediction came true. In 1897 Swamiji asked people to forget all of their deities for next fifty years and worship only the mother India. And precisely after fifty years in 1947 India got independence. Swamiji has also predicted that India would emerge as jagadguru (world leader/guide). His dreams can be fulfilled by the youth power if they are provided with enough opportunities.” Gujarat is walking on the path shown by Swami Vivekananda for the upliftment of poor and deprived classes, he added.

Mr.Modi said that today our nation’s condition is such that there is no neta(leader), no niti(policy) and no niyat(intention) in the government. The Prime Minister Manmohan Sigh said that ‘money doesn’t grow on tree’, but the 2G and coal scams are the Congress’s money tree. “The nation is passing through such a worst situation that one may question who will give direction to the younger generation”, he said.

It is not a small feat that people from all corners of the nation come to Gujarat for employment. Out of total employment provided in the country, 72% alone has been provided by Gujarat. The Centre should compete with Gujarat on the front of providing employment. But it does not dare as it does not have courage to do so, said the chief minister.

Speaking to the youths the chief minister asked them to develop sportsman spirit. “One who plays, grows”, he exhorts. He also gave outlines of the state government’s decision to build a sports complex in every district.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Navjot Siddhu said the future of Gujarat’s youth is bright as they have great faith on the leadership of Mr.Modi. “Mr.Modi believes in growth polity and the youths will remain in his support”, he exuded faith. Mr.Modi’s leadership has made Gujarat prosperous and the art of good governance should be learnt from him, he added.

Today’s parishad, held in the special presence of Swami Nikhileshwaranandji of Ramkrishna Mission, also saw presence of district in-charge and urban development minister Nitin Patel, Minister of State for Tourism Jitendra Sukhadiya, Parliamentary Secretary Yogesh Patel, Whip Pankaj Desai, MP Ramsinh Rathava, district MLAs, Chairman of Gujarat Housing Board Jyanti Barot, high officials and office bearers of the state government.

On the occasion, the chief minister also felicitated Anshuman Gaikvad, Yusuf Pathan, Munaf Patel, Nayan Mongiya and Atul Bedade, the cricketers who made proud to Gujarat on international level, and the Basketball player Dishant Shah.
