Ahmedabad, 26 September 2012
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today attended the closed-door BJP national executive at Surajkund in Haryana. Intervening in a discussion on foreign direct investment in retail, Modi reportedly asked other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to go full hog on the issue by holding not less than 5,000 public meetings – at least 10 in each Lok Sabha constituency – to win over traders and farmers against foreign retailers to expose the Congress’ hype on reforms to deflect attention from scams.
After participating the national executive on the first day, Modi left Surajkund to reach Mumbai where he is scheduled to attend a meeting of India’s top cricket body – BCCI on Thursday morning. It’s crucial for Modi to attend this meeting citing some decisions pertaining to Gujarat Cricket Association(GCA) which is headed by Modi. Modi will return to the party conclave on Thursday afternoon and also be there for the following day’s deliberations and public rally.
Then on 29th Modi will again start his yatra – this time on Surendranagar and Kutch routes.
