Why govt spent Rs 1880 crore for Sonia Gandhi’s foreign tours? Asks Modi (Video)

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra is exploring the areas of Junagadh and Amreli districts today. Shri Modi’s yatra will also reach Visavdar village of Junagadh district where former Chief Minister and Gujarat Parivartan Party leader Keshubhai Patel is going to contest the poll.

Addressing the people today the Chief Minister announced a separate Jesar taluka.

In his speech, the Chief Minister raised a question on smt Sonia Gandhi’s foreign travels.

Modi said, “my Congress friends, isn’t it correct that Rs 1880 crore have been spent in last three years from govt treasury for Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s foreign tours? This figure of Rs 1,880 crore is more than one entire year’s budget of Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Rajkot all four in total. Such a big amount was spent for Sonia’s foreign tours including her hotel stay and other things. What kind of simplicity is this? Who is spending the money of Hindustan’s poor people? I want to ask the Delhi sultanate.”

Modi’s valid questions

-Why the central govt should pay for her travel if Sonia Gandhi visits foreign country to see her ailing mother?

-Why govt of India gave permission of special plane to Sonia Gandhi who is just a Lok Sabha MP? Such facility is available only to the Prime Minister and President of this country!

-Has the govt of India given special status of President to Sonia Gandhi in its protocol?

-Though her America visit was private and for personal reason, why the Indian consulate booked four five royal suit in costliest hotel of New York spending government money?

-Will the Prime Minister disclose anything on Rs 1180 crore foreign tour expenses of Sonia Gandhi in last three years?

-On one side the poor people of India are living with hardship in inflation, can the country bear the expenses of Sonia Gandhi’s private foreign visits?

-Did Congress sultanate snatch away gas cylinders from the kitchens of housewives just to spend money for such foreign trips from govt treasury?

Sonia Gandhi to visit Gujarat on 3rd October

It should be mentioned here that UPA Chairperson and Congress party’s national president Sonia Gandhi is going to visit Saurashtra on 3rd October. She will address Gujarat Congress’s farmer rally in Rajkot.

Subramainan Swamy’s reaction

“Narendra Modified has disclosed that Rs 1880 crores were spent by Sonia on her US medical treatment. Who paid? PIL(Public interest litigation) soon,” Janta Party President Subramanian Swamy today said on Twitter in reaction to Narendra Modi’s statement.

Congress denies it, Modi quotes a news item on RTI reply

After the Congress party denied Modi’s allegations, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that Haryana’s Hisar based citizen had filed RTI application in this regard and the Prime Minister’s office had replied and given the figures that were published in a newspaper on 17 July, 2012. If it was incorrect, it was Congress party’s responsibility to say that. It was Gandhi family’s and central government’s responsibility to say that. I have just done my duty and shared the detail to the people of this country.
