Gandhinagar, 2 October 2012
Speaking at a youth convention in Gandhinagar today Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today said that the central government has dumped further Rs 100 crore burden over the state of Gujarat by imposing service tax over freight transportation through railway.
“We generate power here through coal, and thanks to new service tax imposed by the centre, the state has to bear further Rs 100 crore burden. This is not a small amount,” Shri Modi said.
“On one hand the government in Delhi takes (cut) from coal at the source and on the other hand it also wants to take (cut) from the destination where coal is supplied,” Shri Modi added.
“While our direction is giving, their direction is looting. They are looting whatever possible wherever,” Shri Modi said.
