Ahmedabad, 4 October 2012
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil while addressing a rally in Sanand today said that there was an ambitious plan to set up Animal Husbandry University in Sanand. However, the Government which played politics in the name of Gau vansh gave away the land of the University to the industrialist Tata almost free. The BJP Government did not stop here. Despite giving this land valued at crores of rupees it also gave 100 acre land between Ahmedabad and Sanand for developing a township. If this land would have been given for houses for women, no women of Sanad and Ahmedabad would have been left homeless. In Gujarat there is development of favorites only.
There is huge tax burden on common man and only favorites are getting money from coffers. Congress ruled states are giving 9 cylinders at subsidized rates to the people while Gujarat Chief Minister has not made announcement for even a single cylinder. The Chief Minister speaks only lies and always blames Centre but has not provided any relief to common man in cylinders. If it comes to power than Congress will give 6 gas cylinders as per Centre’s subsidized rate and the State Government would give subsidy on remaining cylinders needed by the people. This means that Congress will give 12 cylinders at subsidized rates.
Congress aims for balanced development and facilities to the common people and announces its development agenda. The announcements made by Congress are not political but have been developed well with the advice of experts and keeping in mind the needs and financial situation. If Congress comes to power then all the promises would be fulfilled, Gohil said.
The Chief Minister earlier indulged in vote politics by dividing Hindu and Muslims. But now people of the State are not misled by all these things so he started gimmick of Sadbhavna. But the people of the state realized that by spending crores of their money it was just vote politics. Now after 12 years the Chief Minister is not able to ask for votes in the name of work, Ram, division or Sadbhavana. In the last 12 years he has not done any such work on the basis of which he can ask for votes. So now he is using Swami Vivekanand’s name for his political games. Vivekanandji had said “I do not believe in God or any such religion which does not wipe out tears from the eyes of any widow or cannot give food to poor or facilities to orphan children”. Actually in the last 12 years Modi has acted totally opposite from Vivekanandji’s philosophy. In the last 12 years widow pension has not been increased by even a single rupee. Central Government has started MNREGA to give employment to people of the state but Modi government has kept minimum wages very low in comparison to other states. Many children have been lost in the state but the Chief Minister has not made any effort to wipe tears of their parents. Gujarat has done nothing for orphan children. The Chief Minister has worked totally against Vivekanand’s ideology and now has undertaken yatra in his name at government expense only for political games. But the people of the state will not support him.
Addressing public rally at Sanand MP Jagdishbhai Thakore gave many examples about Gujarat Government’s anti policy about common man and backward class. He said that like Britisher’s the present State Government has divided people of Gujarat and has caused tremendous damage.
Congress District President Premjibhai Vadlani, President of Congress in district panchayat Murtuja Khan Pathan and other leaders of the district were present in this public meeting at Sanand.
