Shalby Limited acquires Krishna Heart Institute in Ahmedabad

Following the acquisition of 140 beds Usha Hospital, Vapi (Now known as Usha Shalby); it is their second successful acquisition this year. With this acquisition, Shalby Limited now possesses combined bed strength of more than 700 beds in Gujarat and Goa. Out of these Ahmedabad itself now has 450 beds, highest by any hospital group in Ahmedabad, at three of its units Vijay Cross roads, Shalby Hospitals-S.G. Highway and Krishna Heart Institute.
On inquiring the reason for this acquisition, Shalby’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ravi Bhandari stated “Krishna Heart Institute has been a strategic buyout to further augment the bed strength of Shalby. Our Main unit Shalby Hospitals-S.G. Highway is running at full occupancy. Hence, it was getting difficult to cater to
increasing number of patients without such an eminent expansion.” He continued “However as planned, Shalby is committed to complete its 400 bed Multispecialty tertiary care International Hospital near Bopal in 2 years time.” He further acknowledged “Shalby has very aggressive plans to add hospitals at various locations across India”. Dr. Pankaj Doshi, Medical Director, Shalby Hospitals shared “Krishna Heart Institute is the first corporate hospital of Gujarat. It started 13 years back and has
been the preferred choice for the Patients of Cardiology. In addition to the prime healthcare services in Cardiology, Krishna Heart Institute will be transitioned to provide Multispecialty Tertiary care treatment. At Shalby, patient care and safety comes on top priority and with this commitment, teams of doctors of different clinical super specialties from Shalby will conduct regular OPDs and Surgeries such as Joint replacement surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, High end Oncology Treatment, Organ transplant procedures at Krishna Heart Institute.”
Shalby Hospitals is one of the prominent Ahmedabad based hospital group feathering record for performing highest number of Joint replacements at a single unit in the world. Recently at Shalby, Dr. Vikram I Shah (Chairman) and his team innovated ‘Zero technique’ in Joint replacements, which is considered a revolution in the surgical history.
