Ahmedabad, 21 October 2012

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur. Modi arrived in Nagpur in the morning and straight away reached RSS headquarter.

After visiting Shri Mohan Bhagwat for around three hours, Shri Modi told media persons that he visited Shri Bhagwat as a Swayamsevak, and no political discussion took place in the meeting.

Shri Modi said he also met Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi and Suresh Soni.

After meeting Shri Bhagwat and other RSS seniors, Shri Modi told media that he met Shri Bhagwat as RSS worker.

Today after a long time, I decided to meet honorable Shri Bhagwatji, and could meet Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi, Shri Suresh Soni and Shri Bhagwatji all three for three and half hours to discuss varieties of issues which gave me great pleasure. I am also a Swayamsevak and this is the place where we have faith, so it’s obvious that heartily talk happened. There was no political talk in the meeting.”

When asked whether his meeting with Shri Bhagwat had anything to do with his candidature for the post of PM, Shri Modi replied “I don’t know whether PMs are decided this way in this country. RSS never interferes in such issues.”
