Ahmedabad, 30 October 2012
Porbandar MP Vitthal Radadia faced the Gujarat High Court heat today in gun brandishing case.
Radadia who is booked for criminal intimidation and rioting cases with six other persons in connection with an FIR registered against him for the gun brandishing episode at a toll plaza in Karjan in Vadodara district on October 12 moved a quashing petition in the Gujarat High Court on Monday.
But during the first hearing today, he failed to get any relief.
The High Court slammed him and said, “This is not the way a Member of Parliament behaves.”
The court also observed that now when FIR has been lodged, the truth will come out in investigation.
Radadia’s lawyer said that Radadia had licensed gun and he keeps it with him all the time. He gives assurance that would not behave in this fashion in future.
The government side on the other hand said that quashing an FIR against MP Radadia would harm the trust people put in the system.
The next hearing in this case will be held on 5 November.
It should be mentioned that earlier the lower court in Vadodara had rejected Radadia’s anticipatory bail in gun brandishing case.
