Adani Group cancels sponsorship of Wharton event

Ahmedabad headquartered Adani Group has decided it would no longer be a “platinum sponsor” of the Wharton India Economic Forum. The gesture is apparent as Adani Group is born and based in Gujarat with majority share holders and operations in Gujarat, and associating its brand name with the event amid fresh controversy could only harm the image of the company.
The controversy began after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was unceremoniously dropped as the keynote speaker at an event at the Wharton Business School under pressure of a small vocal group of leftist liberals.
