Adani Hikes CNG Prices Again; Rate Crosses Rs 100 per Kg in Ahmedabad
November 05, 2026
Ahmedabad: Adani Total Gas Ltd. has increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Rs 2.30 per kg, taking the rate to Rs 100.77 from Rs 98.47 in the city. The latest hike comes just 13 days after a major increase of Rs 4.45 per kg on October 23, pushing CNG prices above the Rs 100 mark for the first time.
The consecutive price hikes, coming just ahead of Diwali, are expected to put additional financial pressure on daily commuters and auto-rickshaw drivers, whose operating costs have risen significantly. Auto-rickshaw drivers have been demanding a government subsidy on CNG to offset the impact of rising fuel prices, but no decision has been taken on the demand so far.
The latest increase has further intensified discontent among auto-rickshaw drivers, who had earlier approached the Transport Commissioner and the state government seeking relief. They had also warned of launching an agitation if their demand for a CNG subsidy was not addressed before Diwali.
Adani has revised CNG prices nine times in 2026, with eight increases and one reduction. The latest hike of Rs 2.03 per kg on November 5 has pushed the cumulative net increase to Rs 17.52 per kg since January 1, despite a Rs 1.21 per kg reduction at the beginning of the year.
