Tourism minister Saurabh Patel today launched an online booking and permit service for visit to “Gir interpretation zones” at Sasan and Devaliya. This means, the tourists will not need to worry about long queues to seek permit to visit the jungle. They will be able to book their permit online well in advance and pay for it using a credit card. This will help visitors, particularly foreign nationals to plan their trip early.

The forest department issues average 90 permits every day, of which, 50% permits will be reserved for online booking for ‘interpretation zone’ in Sasan.

For Devaliya interpretation zone one will be able to get as many permits as he wants.

The system has been named ‘Gir Online Permit Booking System.’

The system has connected to existing website of Gujarat Forest department.

E-permits are non refundable. Gir Jungle train remains closed from 16th June to 15th October every year. Devalia Safari Park remains closed on every Wednesday. Guide, Vehicle, Camera fee information are available locally at reception center of Sasan Gir.

Gir Jungle trains remains open from Monday to Sunday during 6 AM to 9 AM, 9 AM to 12PM and 3 PM to 6 PM.

On normal day for up to 6 persons, Rs 400 INR is charged from Indian visitor while 2400 INR from foreigner. Extra child fee for Indian is 50 INR while 600 INR for foreigner.

On Saturday, Sunday for upto 6 persons, the charge for Indian visitor is 500 INR, while for foreigner the charge of 3000 INR. Extra child cost for Indian is 65 INR while for foreigner 750 INR.

On festival days, 600 INR is charged for upto 6 persons, while 3600 INR for foreigner. Extra child if Indian is charged at 75 INR, foreigner 900 INR.

In one E-permit maximum 6 (+2 only upto 2 children between 3 to 12 years) persons will be allowed.

Viewing will be facilitated by open gypsies locally available at reception centre at Sasan Gir.

Devalia Safari remains open from Monday to Sunday during 8-11 AM and 3-5 PM.

During Monday-Friday 75 INR are charged from Indian(per individual) while 1200 INR are charged from foreigner(per individual). On Saturday Sunday the charge is 95 INR and 1500 INR, while on festival day it is 115 INR and 1800 INR respectively for Indian and foreigner.

Terms and conditions

• The print out of E-permit must be brought at the time of reporting of Gir Jungle Trail/Devaliya Safari Park Visit along with original Identity proof.

• For foreigner, only passport is allowed as an Identity proof.

• In one E-permit maximum 6 (+2*) persons will be allowed to visit Gir Jungle Trail for a single shift on a particular route. (*Only Up to 2 children between 3 to 12 years will be allowed.)

• For Devaliya Safari Park an individual can book maximum limit for a particular period of time/shift.

• An individual can book a maximum of one Gir Jungle Trail E-permit at a time for a single shift.

• Slight changes in visit time may be done by authority due to Weather/Seasonal changes.

• Only 50% of total permits of Gir Jungle Trail are available online.

• At earliest a person can apply E-Permit 3 months before and at most 48 hours prior to date of Gir Jungle Trail/ Devaliya Safari Park visit.

• There will be “NO REFUND” for cancellation of E-permit of Forest visit/Devaliya safari park.

• If in case where a financial transactions is successful but epermit did not issued due to Site response/failure then refund will be made within 15-20 business days.

• For Devaliya Safari Park Visit E-booking tourist should mention arrival time.

• For Gir Jungle Trail, tourists are requested to arrive at the, Reception Centre, (Boarding point) at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time mentioned on ePermit. E-Permit will be cancelled in case of late arrival i.e. 30 minutes of scheduled departure of Gir Jungle Trail. No refund will be entertained in such cases.

• Guide Service: Guide will be mandatory for Gir Jungle Trail and those are available locally at Reception centre, Sasan-Gir.

Vehicle (Gypsy) is locally available at reception centre Sasan-Gir .

• At the time of booking original Identity card number and type should be provided. Bookings with incomplete or incorrect ID proof will be considered invalid. No Gir Jungle Trail/Devaliya Park visit will be permitted against such bookings and no refund will be made. Ids should be State/Central Govt authorized. For Foreign tourists Passport is required.

• At the time of Gir Jungle Trail/Devaliya Park visit, presenting the original ID (Same as given in e-permit) is compulsory. Without the original ID, visit will not be allowed.

• Route and other information of Gir Jungle Trail will be provided on the basis of permit numbers on reporting time at Reception centre, Sasan-Gir.

• There will be no change in particular route on demand by tourists.

• All disputes subject to the Junagadh jurisdiction only.

Services NOT Offered
• Issue of duplicate permit tickets for lost, mutilated or torn tickets.
• Bulk booking over 6 persons at Gir Jungle Trail.
