GCMMF board passes no-confidence motion against him, Vipul Chaudhary moves Supreme Court

Ahmedabad, 5 December 2013

A no-confidence motion, seeking the ouster of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation chairman Vipul Chaudhary for alleged mismanagement in affairs of the federation, was today passed in a meeting of board of directors by 15 vs 2 votes. The resolution to oust Chaudhary, however, cannot be implemented till the Gujarat High Court gives its nod.

Vipul Chaudhary meanwhile moved Supreme Court to save his chair. Hearing will be held on Friday.

After High Court’s approval, board of directors meeting of GCMMF was held today to pass no-confidence motion against Vipul Chaudhary.

Vipul Chaudhary was of opinion that he was not given agenda of meeting in advance and therefore this meeting couldn’t be convened. He therefore adjourned the meeting and left it with his supporter Ramsinh Parmar. Chaudhary said he had instructed Managing Director to hold next meeting only after giving agenda in advance.

However those opposing Chaudhary were of opinion that as this meeting was to discuss no-confidence motion against Chaudhary, he should not chair it. According to Ahmedabad based Uttam Dairy’s Mohanbhai Bharwad who was part of the meeting, Board of directors elected Sabar dairy chairman to chair the meeting. His candidature for working Chairman was supported by Gandhinagar, Rajkot and other dairy chairman. The meeting later passed motion against Vipul Chaudhary by 15 vs 2 votes.
