After his son joined BJP last week, veteran leader Keshubhai Patel may step down from the post of president of Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP).
GPP was formed last year ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections. Former minister of state for Home and anti-Modi politician Gordhan Zadafia’s MahaGujarat Janata Party merged into GPP.
GPP contested all assembly seats but could win only two seats. GPP MLA Nalin Kotadia has joined BJP, while Keshubhai Patel has skipped every important meeting of GPP in recent past citing health reasons.
Now when his son Bharat has joined BJP and started working actively in the party, Keshubhai is likely to step down from the post of president of GPP. It seems, Keshubhai will not leave GPP entirely. After successful launching of his son Bharat, Keshubhai may dissociate himself with politics.
