CM announces Sardar Awas Yojana-2

Under Mukhya Mantri Gruh Yojana, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced a recent Sardar Avas Yojana-2 that aims to fulfill the dreams of the rural APL families having kutcha houses to have pakka houses for them.
Under this Sardar Avas Yojana-2, the APL beneficiaries living in kutcha houses in the villages are eligible to be benefited with an aid of Rs.40, 000 to help transform their houses into pakka houses that are worth Rs.1 lakh. According to a survey carried out by Panchayat department, there are about 16 lakhs kutcha houses in rural areas and with a view to transforming them into pakka houses, Chief Minister has allotted Rs.1000 crore annually under Sardar Avas Yojana, wherein each beneficiary will be given the an aid of Rs.40,000.
In the initial year of Sardar Avas Yojana-2, those beneficiaries being registered from 21 to 28 points of BPL beneficiaries’ list will be benefited on the basis of ‘first come, first out’ in a total of three phases.
The construction of pakka houses along with lavatory will be of 22.90 sqm. The pakka houses will be built as per the conditions of Gramgruh Nirman.
In first year, BPL beneficiaries (21-28 points) will get benefit of this scheme in three phases. Pucca house in size of 22.90 sq.m will have latrine facility.
