Ahmedabad, 25 March 2014
Ahmedabad city sessions court has today in its order rejected anticipatory bail plea of controversial NGO operator Teesta Setalvad and her husband Javed Anand in connection with the Gulbarg Society fund embezzlement case.
Ms. Setalvad had allegedly used the foreign funds meant for riot victims for personal use. Setalvad has spent a good amount of funds on grocery items, to watch cinema or even to take beauty-parlor services.
Teesta and her husband could now be arrested anytime by police for investigation.
They are however likely to challenge the verdict in the High Court.
