A Delhi Court today extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal till June 6. Kejriwal, who has been sent to judicial custody in the Nitin Gadkari defamation case, refused to furnish a bail bond.
Kejriwal was arrested on Wednesday and sent to Tihar Jail till May 23 by a local court after he refused to furnish bail bond of Rs 10,000 in a criminal defamation complaint filed against him by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.
Kejriwal is facing the case because he made allegations against Gadkari without any basis.
Earlier Union minister Manish Tewari had tendered an unconditional written apology to Gadkari in court and in reaction Gadkari had withrawn defamation case against him, but it seems Kejriwal is ready to go to jail for publicity and sympathy, but not ready to accept that he had made wrong allegations against Gadkari.
Gadkari, the former national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
