Surat Airport Announces New Parking and Excess Pick-Up Time Charges

Surat: Surat International Airport on Wednesday announced a revised fee structure for vehicle pick-up and parking. The move aims to improve traffic flow and enhance passenger convenience at the airport.

According to airport authorities, vehicles arriving at the airport will get 9 minutes and 30 seconds of free time in the pick-up lane, from the entry gate to the exit booth. Beyond this period, an excess time fee will be levied based on the vehicle type. Private cars and two-wheelers will incur charges of ₹30 and ₹10 respectively, while Tempo/SUV/Mini Buses will be charged ₹60.

Vehicles exiting directly from the parking area will get 4 minutes of free time to reach the exit. Beyond that, the same excess time charges will apply: ₹30 for private cars, ₹10 for two-wheelers, ₹60 for Tempo/SUV/Mini Buses, and ₹84 for other commercial vehicles.

It is also noteworthy that vehicles dropping off passengers are exempt from these excess time charges. However, they will still be subject to a ₹500 parking fee for idle stopping or parking in the departure lane—a measure intended to maintain smooth traffic flow for other departing passengers.

The airport has also outlined a detailed Vehicle Parking Tariff. For the general parking area:

  • Private cars will be charged ₹30 for 0–30 minutes, ₹40 for 0–120 minutes, and ₹120 for 7–24 hours.

  • Two-wheelers will be charged ₹60, ₹80, and ₹240 respectively for the same durations.

  • Tempo/SUV/Mini Buses will incur charges of ₹84, ₹134, and ₹402.

  • Other commercial cars will be charged ₹84, ₹134, and ₹402 for the corresponding time slots.

Premium car parking will cost ₹75 for the first 30 minutes, ₹80 for 0–120 minutes, and ₹240 for 7–24 hours. Two-wheeler parking will be ₹10 for 0–30 minutes and ₹15 for 0–120 minutes, with night parking available.

Furthermore, the airport has specified charges for extended parking:

  • Four-wheelers parked beyond two hours will be charged ₹10 per hour, up to a maximum of 7 hours.

  • Two-wheelers parked for more than two hours will be charged ₹5 per hour, up to 7 hours.

Airport officials urge all passengers and drivers to follow the new rules to ensure smooth operations and avoid penalties. — DeshGujarat
