Vibrant Gujarat delegation concludes 3-day Canada visit

A Gujarat delegation led by Gujarat government’s resident commissioner in Delhi Bharat Lal visited Canada for three days in connection with Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015.
Gujarat delegation reached Montreal on Monday. After spending one day there it reached Toronto on second day.
During Montreal visit, Indian High Commissioner, Quebec India Business Council and Export Cubic had organized meeting that was attended by 100 CEOs, Directors, senior officers, businessmen and professionals from Quebec area.
Bharat Lal showed a presentation and film on Vibrant Gujarat summit 2015. Deputy High Commissioner Tsewang Namgyal also addressed the event.
Delegation members also visited University de Quebec and Montreal(UQAM) which is one of the largest universities of Montreal which is affiliated with world’s number of universities. Possibilities of affiliation with Gujarat’s educational institutions were discussed during this meeting.
Bharat Lal and other members of delegation invited UQAM to upcoming International Conference of Academic Institutes(ICAI) 2015.
Gujarat delegation also held one-to-one meetings with Canada’s leading companies including CAE Inc.
In Toronto, the delegation held a meeting with leading companies and investors. Delegation members visited Canada’s biggest investment bank Canaccord Genuity. They assured a delegation of Canadian companies to Vibrant summit so that they can explore possibilities of partnership with Gujarat in Agri, Agro processing, fertilizer and skill development areas.
A meeting of Canada-India business council(CIBC) was held which was participated by Canada’s over 60 top businessmen. Toronto based India’s Consul General Shri Akhilesh Mishra gave details on India’s business and investment environment. He also gave details on policies of Government of India and Government of Gujarat.
In this meeting, Gujarat based Bombardier company shared its experience in Gujarat and asked Canadian companies to do business in Gujarat. Shri Bharat Lal gave presentation on Gujarat’s progress and various opportunities available here. He invited Canada’s business world and government officials to participate in Vibrant Gujarat summit. During their two days visit to Toronto, delegation members visited Canada’s leading companies and educational institutions.
Bharat Lal met founder chairman of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited Shri Prem Vatsa who showed interest in visit to Gujarat to explore possibilities of investment.
In Conference and networking event organized by Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce(ICCC), more than 150 representatives from Canada were present. Toronto based India’s Consul General Akhilesh Mishra, Canada’s Sports Minister Bal Gosal were among those who were present on this occasion. Shri Bharat Lal gave presentation on opportunities in Gujarat.
GSPL’s AK Vijaykumar, ONGC Videsh’s Akhil Varma, Creative Infocity’s Suvas Barot, Suzlon Energy’s Balrajsinh Parmar, Dev IT Limited owner Jaimin Shah, GVFL’s Prashant Mehta, Essar Steel’s Samir Sharma were among those in delegation.
