Statue of Unity construction from 31 October: report

According to ToI report, the construction of Statue of Unity near the Sardar Sarovar dam site will begin from the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on October 31, 2014. Chief Minister of Gujarat will launch the construction work at Kevadia colony. The state government is likely to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on October 27 with L&T for the construction of the 182 meter-tall statue.
In another news story, it has been reported that Mumbai based India Ocean Maritime Engineering Company, which is a subsidiary of a Chinese firm called China Harbor Engineering Company, has shown interest in Bhadbhut barrage project on Narmada river, MoU for which is likely to be signed during Vibrant Gujarat Summit next January.
