He said, “In my 20-25 years long public life, this is first occasion when Chief Minister is attending such inauguration function as early as at 7.15 am.”

He said, “Her original schedule was to visit Kutch, but when our friends invited her to attend this function at Civil hospital Ahmedabad at 7.15 am, she agreed and gave time.”

Patel thanked MLAs, journalists and other to remain present in this early morning function and termed it encouraging.

On cleanliness drive launched today he said, “nowadays when we say that there’s cleanliness drive, people ask whether they should bring broom or it will be available by organizers at venue?”

Patel said, “people come, take broom in hand, clean some surface and get clicked. This is what’s going on, but today the government is launching statewide cleanliness drive for government health complexes by making available a form.”

Patel said, cleanliness related forms will be available in government hospitals, and MLA, Councillors and others will be able to evaluate the cleanliness situation in hospital and fill a form which will reach Health Commissioner. Thus there will be check on hospital’s job of cleanliness.

He said, “today we are here and therefore the hospital is clean, but there will be surprise visits too and hospital must be clean when we conduct surprise check.”

It should be mentioned that Nitin Patel has paid two surprise visits in fortnight recently. In one of the visits he exposed illegal drug purchase racket going on in hospital premises.

Patel said, “today when Chief Minister paid visit to the hospital complex and met three patients, two of them were from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Such patients coming from outside should go back with good impression of Gujarat.”
