After 6 to 7 hours long interrogation of Teesta Setalvad yesterday in Gulbarg Society funds case, the Ahmedabad police Crime Branch may record statement of Javed Anand today. The three other accused – Tanvir Jafei, Salim Sindhi and Firoz Gulzar Pathan will be giving their respective statements on Wednesday. Investigating Officer KN Patel recorded Teesta’s statement yesterday. Teesta was accompanied by RB Srikumar. However Crime Branch reportedly permitted entry only to Teesta who is accused.

Teesta was here as ordered by the Gujarat High Court on December 5, when it had directed her and Javed Anand to cooperate in the ongoing investigation against them. The court was hearing an anticipatory bail plea filed by Teesta and husband Javed. It had continued the interim relief provided to them in the matter and scheduled the next hearing on January 12, 2015.

Local Gujarati newspaper Sandesh reports that Crime Branch has revealed that former HRD minister Sibal had given Rs. 1.39 crore to Teesta’s NGO. The newspaper also reports that Rs. 1.7 crore donation money received for riot victims was transferred to Sabrang Publication Private Limited.

-Why Rs. 1.7 crore sum was transferred to Sabrang publication private limited?
-Why personal accounts were concealed.
-Details of Rs. 1.9 crore withdrawn from Trust account
-Details of Rs. 29 lakh spent through credit card.
-Whether there are vouchers of money spent.

Teesta traveled America, Pakistan, Canada, Kuwait, Abudhabi, while husband Javed traveled to Islamabad(Marriott hotel), London and Jammu & Kashmir through trust funds.
