Around 400 Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar based owners of the decent homes have come forward to offer their homes for tourists to stay under the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd(TCGL)’s new ‘Home Stay’ policy announced last month.

Key officials in the TCGL told that, “we have received around 400 applications from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar under the home stay policy. We are scrutinizing the properties offered physically who fulfills our criteria. At least half of the applications are likely to be approved within couple of days and they will be given formal registration number and their property details will be uploaded on the website so tourist can avail their service during Vibrant Summit and Pravasi Bharitiya Divas(PBD) celebration.”

Under the home stay policy people will be given special incentives for renting their homes to tourists. The home owners will be given tax exemption and will not be charged any commercial taxes like luxury tax and Municipal tax.
