Highest number of Muslim candidates elected in J&K in 2014 polls

Highest number of Muslim candidates have won Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections this year compared to past.
In 1992 polls 56 Muslim candidate were elected, in 1996 the figure was 53, in 2002 – 60, 2008 – 61, while this year highest number of 62 Muslim candidates are elected in 87-strong assembly house.
Number of Hindu candidates winning polls was 18 in 1992, 33 – 1996, 26 – 2002, 24 – 2008, while it is 25 in 2014.
Sikh candidates won 2 seats in 1992, 3 in 1996, 1 in 2002, 2 in 2008 while in 2014 none of the Sikh candidates has won election.
In 1992 there were 76 seats but since 1996 there are 87 assembly seats in Jammu & Kashmir.
