Hyderabad
Aiming to strengthen the party organisation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, BJP president Amit Shah would visit the two states this week.
Shah would hold a meeting of BJP’s Telangana office- bearers on January 8, state unit president and MLA G Kishan Reddy said.
The agenda would be to discuss the membership drive and strengthening the organisation in the state, he said.
BJP has been focusing on improving its presence in the southern and eastern states. It did well in the two Telugu-speaking states in the 2014 elections in alliance with TDP.
Its performance was particularly impressive in Andhra Pradesh as it bagged two Lok Sabha seats and four Assembly constituencies.
BJP is now a partner in government in the state.
