New Health center in Rajkot to be functional in a year

Health Minister of Gujarat Nitin Patel today performed ground breaking of Health center in Shyamnagar area of Rajkot.
Rs. 94 lakh health center will come up over 704 sqm in one year period. It will serve 60,000 people. It has been planned under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
Due to sudden death of Councillor Kailashben Ramani, the function was held with simplicity.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the function health minister said that the state government has shortlisted Rajkot and Vadodara for proposed All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS) hospital and medical college facility. He said central team of AAIMs has visited both cities and it will take a decision on where to set up AIIMS. Patel said Rajkot has been shortlisted because patients from Kutch and Saurashtra region can easily travel to Rajkot.
