Unit 1 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) is generating 1000 MWe daily and has produced 534 crore units till date, plant official said today.
“The Unit II of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant has been generating 1000 MWe daily and has generated 534 crore units so far,” Site Director of KNPP, R S Sundar said.
He said the hot run for Unit II has been in progress from February 28 and that major activities in this exercise had been completed successfully.
Steam relief devices testing would be taken up next, during which steam would be released to the atmosphere and the ambient noise level was likely to marginally go up, he said.
